The Case Study Methodology
Some modules are based on case studies. The case study method is well recognized in business education as a realistic preparation for the challenges in leadership and management. Case study teaching styles include role playing, videos, simulations, team exercises and lectures. In case studies it is common to treat issues of real, usually international companies and to recommend solutions.
e-Learning
Students will use an e-learning platform to maintain contact with their lecturers and classmates during the time they are studying off-campus. This platform will allow for group communication, online assignments and discussions with lecturers.
Educational Business Trip
During the 9 day face-to-face course block an educational trip offers participants the opportunity to visit local and international companies in a designated area in Switzerland and the USA to gain valuable insights in current business situations.
Project and Thesis
In the final part of the program, each participant undertakes a management consultancy project that forms the basis of his thesis. This provides the participants with an opportunity to test their grasp of new techniques, their judgment and their personal skills. As an exception, the project may be problem-solving, desk-based research. The company project is an important
learning vehicle in the program and can be offered as a significant and real payback to the participant’s organization.
